It’s all on us…a further introduction.

You’ve probably already read the introduction page so there is no need to go into that kind of detail again. As we all wait with baited breath for the shop’s final construction phase to be completed I thought I’d add a bit more to this little corner of the net we have, if only to keep you looking!
The title says it all. Everything we do in and for the store is tasked from in house. From the cash to start the business to the advertising and logo art, plus so many aspects in between.  Beth (Jonathan's wife and Real Estate Agent) helped with all the negotiations and real estate gobbly-gook for our lease, (that stuff is Greek to us!) and Meg (Matt's Fiance) is our graphic designer, (my artistic ability ends with stick-figures, and crude ones at that!) Not only does this save us money, it also allows us to stay on top of everything going on behind the scenes without tasking ourselves to death. Simply put, there are no faceless money-men or old family ties in the background pulling strings, we don’t farm out anything we can do in house, and the entire upstart needed came out of our heads, the sweat of our labor, or our own wallets.  We think this really sets us apart from our competition, thus the bragging!
We have no plans to start selling product online; we’ll leave that to Moosejaw and others. Online shopping is a nice time saver, but it’s also unfriendly and just doesn’t jive with our philosophy. Our goal today will be our goal years from now. The local outfitter where you can shop without hassle, get questions answered galore, find unique product not offered anywhere else in town and actually talk with the owners (and their dogs) on a regular basis. We’ve both worked for large companies and places with the aforementioned aspects, and that is why we are opening this store! Simple can be so much better, I’ve been saying it for years; it will be at Clintonville Outfitters~

The Boxes are Stacking Up!!!!

Thought that we should use the blog to tell everyone what was coming in so you will know what we will have when we open.  So here we go.....

Teva Footwear - An outdoor staple for many years.

Darn Tough Socks - Simply amazing socks and they are made in Vermont.  darntough.com for those interested in learning more.

Ahnu Footwear - Great new footwear company.  Their Tilden sandles have a charred bamboo lining which is naturally wicking and anit-microbial (not to mention a rapidly renewable resource!).  My wife is already wearing the Benicia and she loves it!  Check out their company at ahnufootwear.com

And finally for now......KIDS CROCS!!!!!!!  They speak for themselves.

More to come,

Jonathan
